Events & Workshops 03

  • November 8, 2024

In the previous article, we learned that wine is a precious heritage of beautiful France. Such excellent wines, the way to enjoy them is also extremely sophisticated and elaborate. Let’s find out with Dining Library in this article.

Wine is often drunk by wine lovers, not necessarily waiting for festivals or drunken parties. The French in particular and wine enthusiasts in general are happy to be called “wine drinkers”, but the way they drink is not “wine drinkers” at all! They cherish every drop of wine, sip and enjoy them slowly, passionately with a surprisingly relaxed mind. Wine is a wine that is made very carefully and with a lot of love from the winemaker. Therefore, their flavors are unique and have such a great influence. Making a delicious glass of wine is not easy, so drinkers also cherish and gradually form and develop their own rules for drinking wine. This is not only a normal eating rule but also the spirit of a whole community of food lovers. Temperature is the deciding factor. Wine is so capricious and elegant that each type of wine will have a different storage and enjoyment temperature. With two types of white wine and rose wine, the ideal temperature to drink them is from 8 to 12 degrees Celsius. Red wine is a bit firmer and will be extremely suitable for the temperature range from 16 to 18 degrees Celsius. Many types of red wine, in addition to temperature, also require “expansion”. You need to open the wine and leave it for a few minutes to “breathe” and “expand” before pouring it into the glass. At this time, the wine will have enough aroma and flavor to drink. Wine glass – the “long legs” of wine Anyone who knows wine clearly sees that wine is always served in a glass with a high bowl and a tiny, elongated handle and a round base. The “long legs” glasses are perfectly designed for enjoying wine. No one drinks this wine with short glasses, long glasses or drinking glasses. All are served in glasses with clear rules.

When pouring wine, the amount of wine usually only takes up ⅓ to ¼ of the glass and the drinker will only hold the body and base of the glass without holding the bowl. This is explained by experts that if you hold the bowl of the glass, the warmth from your hands will be transmitted directly to them and the temperature of your hands will ruin the best state of the wine. Wine is not in a hurry. No one drinks wine in a hurry, hurriedly or gulps it down like water. They drink calmly, slowly and leisurely. Therefore, we often have the phrase “sip a glass of wine” to describe the way wine lovers cherish and spend all their time “studying” their glass of wine.

Each glass of wine is poured, the drinker gently shakes it to blend the wine. Next, they bring it to their nose and inhale the wine with its complex aroma, full of complex combinations of many different scents such as oak, apple wood, grape mixed with other fruits or pure grape scent… Then each person sips a little wine and lets their throats awaken thanks to the warm alcohol. Red and white Red wine is drunk with red meat, white wine is drunk with white meat and seafood. This is an unwritten rule that all wine lovers from amateurs to professionals know by heart. Deep down, it is a series of chemical reactions to explain why this combination is so standard and precise. As for those who love cuisine, they have enough sensitivity and sophistication to know that a fragrant piece of grilled beef can only truly “enter the heart” when accompanied by a glass of famous red wine. Or seafood parties with many flavors cannot lack bottles of cool white wine, with a sharp taste.
